Get Active. Beat Dementia. 2026

Dementia is one of Australia’s most significant health challenges, with over 433 300 Australians living with the condition. As the leading cause of death for women and the second leading cause of death overall, dementia affects not only those diagnosed but also their families, carers, and communities. Without a medical breakthrough, this number is projected to double by 2058.

This is why we’re calling on healthcare professionals and organisations to join EBOS Healthcare in the fight against dementia!

The campaigns aims to bring people across Australia together in support of this vital cause. Whether you’re joining as an individual or as part of a corporate team, your participation will help reach the goal of $2.5 million to support Dementia Australia’s work.

Benefits of Physical Activity in Dementia Prevention

  • Enhances Brain Health: Regular exercise increases blood flow to the brain, promoting the growth of new neurons and improving cognitive function.
  • Reduces Risk Factors: Physical activity helps lower blood pressure, improve cardiovascular health, and manage weight, which are crucial in reducing the risk of dementia.
  • Alleviates Mental Health Symptoms: Exercise is effective in reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression, common among individuals with dementia.
  • Promotes Social Interaction: Engaging in physical activities often involves group settings, fostering social connections that are beneficial for mental health.
  • Provides a Sense of Purpose: Regular activity can enhance self-esteem and provide individuals with a sense of achievement and purpose.
  • Improves Overall Well-Being: Incorporating exercise into daily routines contributes to better physical and mental health, creating a protective buffer against cognitive decline.
