BIOPATCH® Protective Disk with CHG

Sustained antimicrobial action over 7 days through proprietary delivery technology.

Prepping the skin isn't enough. Within hours of thorough antiseptic application, resident bacteria recolonise on the skin’s surface.

For use with both vascular and nonvascular percutaneous devices.

Backed by Robust Clinical Evidence

The clinical data on BIOPATCH Disk speaks for itself. BIOPATCH Disk has a cleared indication to reduce the incidence of CRBSIs, local infections, and skin colonisation in patients with central venous and arterial catheters. Only BIOPATCH Disk has over 25 years of extensive clinical experience, including:

  • 1 meta-analysis
  • 15 randomized controlled trials (RCTs)
  • 6 comparative cohorts
  • 19 single-arm case series
  • 6 conference proceedings
  • 2 case reports

Protect all lines. Protect all lives.

It is estimated that over 54,000 people get a catheter-related bloodstream infection (CRBSI) every single year in the UK. BIOPATCH Protective Disk with CHG is a polyurethane foam disk proved to reduce local infections, catheter-related blood stream infections (CRBSI), and skin colonisation of microorganisms commonly related to CRBSI, in patients with central venous or arterial catheters.

BIOPATCH Indications

BIOPATCH Protective Disk with CHG is the only dressing that meets all the following criteria:

  • Intended to reduce local infections, catheter related bloodstream infections (CRBSI), and skin colonisation of microorganisms commonly related to CRBSI, in patients with central venous or arterial catheters.
  • Is constructed from polyurethane foam allowing quick absorption of fluid decreasing the likelihood of skin maceration.
  • Is designed to deliver chlorhexidine gluconate a full 360 degree around the catheter insertion site providing optimised coverage and protection.

Easy to use

BIOPATCH CHG dressing is easy to apply and remove. Removal of BIOPATCH is a simple, one-step process with no saline or alcohol swabs needed.
