Know the warning signs
Kidney disease often develops gradually, with few or no noticeable symptoms in its early stages. As kidney function declines, individuals may experience persistent fatigue, swelling in the hands or feet, changes in urination, dry or itchy skin, nausea and difficulty sleeping. Recognising these potential warning signs and understanding the importance of early detection can help support better kidney health outcomes. Regular kidney health checks are particularly important for people with risk factors such as diabetes, high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease. If you experience any concerning symptoms, speak with your healthcare professional for further assessment.
