World Heart Rhythm Week 1-7 June
World Heart Rhythm Week is an annual health awareness campaign that aims to improve understanding of heart rhythm disorders, also known as arrhythmias. Arrhythmias occur when the electrical signals that control the heartbeat do not work as they should, which may cause the heart to beat too fast, too slow, or irregularly. Some people may notice symptoms such as a racing heartbeat, fluttering, shortness of breath, dizziness, tiredness, chest discomfort or fainting, while others may not experience symptoms at all.
Led by Arrhythmia Alliance, World Heart Rhythm Week encourages greater awareness of the importance of recognising changes in heart rhythm and seeking appropriate health advice when needed. The campaign promotes early recognition, education and conversations about heart rhythm conditions, particularly as some arrhythmias can increase the risk of serious health complications if left undetected or untreated.
How World Heart Rhythm Week Works
World Heart Rhythm Week focuses on awareness, education and early action. Campaign activities may include sharing information about heart rhythm disorders, promoting pulse checks, encouraging people to learn the signs of an irregular heartbeat, and supporting conversations between individuals, families, workplaces and healthcare professionals.
Healthcare organisations, workplaces and community groups may also participate by displaying campaign materials, sharing digital resources, promoting heart health information, or encouraging people to speak with a healthcare professional if they notice changes in their heart rhythm. The campaign helps remind people that recognising symptoms early and seeking support can play an important role in protecting heart health.

Supporting Awareness in the Workplace and Community
