Coloxyl with Senna are sugar-free film-coated tablets for the treatment of constipation. Each bottle contains 90 tablets which each contain 50 mg of the active ingredient Docusate.

Docusate is a stool softener or emollient laxative. It is a surfactant which is considered to act by stimulating intestinal secretions and by increasing the penetration of fluid into the faeces, thereby softening the stool.

Senna is classified as an anthraquinone stimulant laxative, thought to increase the activity of the intestine by direct effect on the smooth muscle of the intestine.
