Haines^® Medical Australia offers a simple, cost effective alternative to reusable tourniquets. Many of our customers are concerned that their reusable tourniquets are:

• not being assessed properly after each use
• when soiled, still being reused posing an infection risk to the next patient
• old / soiled presenting a poor image of the facility

Why switch to Disposable Tourniquets?

A recent study examined 100 reusable tourniquets after use on patients’ arms and found that:

“61 per cent of them were colonised with bacterial species not normally found in the upper arm area. Multi-resistant organisms (MRO), including the superbug methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), were found in one quarter of the tourniquets.”
