Test Information

Collection Type

Uses a shallow anterior nasal swab, inserted approximately 2–4 cm into each nostril. Unlike a nasopharyngeal swab, it does not require insertion to the back of the nose.

Sample Collection

Use a fresh nasal sample and test it as soon as possible after collection. Do not use samples contaminated with blood, as this may affect the test result.

Reading Results

Read the result 15–20 minutes after completing the test. A faint Test (T) line together with the Control (C) line should be interpreted as a positive result.

Storage

Store between 2°C and 30°C. Exposure to temperatures outside this range may affect test performance.

Disposal

Dispose of the test cassette, swab and all components in a sealed household waste bag. Do not recycle used test materials.

COVID-19 Symptoms

For best performance, use the test within the first 7 days of symptom onset. Performance may be reduced during later stages of infection or in asymptomatic individuals.

COVID-19 Vaccination

A recent COVID-19 vaccination is not expected to affect the test result.

Variant Detection

The test detects the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein and is designed to identify known COVID-19 variants. Refer to the latest product information for current details.

Age Recommendations

Children under 16 years should be supervised by an adult. The test is not intended for children aged 2 years or younger.

Understanding Your Results

2San COVID-19 & Influenza A/B Result Interpretation

Positive Result

A positive result is indicated when the Control (C) line appears together with the relevant test line:

  • N = SARS-CoV-2 detected
  • A = Influenza A detected
  • B = Influenza B detected

A faint test line should still be interpreted as a positive result.

Negative Result

If only the Control (C) line appears and no N, A or B test lines are visible, the result is negative.

A negative result indicates that SARS-CoV-2, Influenza A and Influenza B antigens were not detected, or are present below the test's limit of detection.

Invalid Result

The result is invalid if:

  • No Control (C) line appears.
  • A test line appears incompletely across the result window.
  • A reddish background obscures the result window.

Repeat the test using a new test kit.
