Non-bordered dressings within the Osmocel Si Silicone Hydroporous Foam range contain a waterproof backing. If a waterproof dressings is required, please use Osmocel Si Silicone Hyroporous Foam Bordered dressings.
Are Osmocel Si Silicone Hydroporous Foam dressings sterile?
Osmocel Si Silicone Hydroporous Foam dressings are sterilised using Ethylene Oxide. The dressing will remain sterile unless the package is opened or damaged. Each dressing is single use only and should not be re-sterilised.
What are the contraindications of Osmocel Si Silicone Hydroporous Foam dressings?
Osmocel Si Silicone Hydroporous Foam dressings should not be used on patients with allergies to any of its components.
The dressing is not suitable for full thickness burns and wounds where bleeding has not ceased.
The dressing must not be used simultaneously with an oxidant e.g. hydrogen peroxide or chlorate solution. This may compromise the structure and performance of the dressing.
